Are you and React Health Rio II a match?
Easy, Comfortable CPAP Mask
The minimal and ergonomic design of the Rio II Nasal Interface allows an open light of sight, the ability to wear glasses while on, and only requires two adjustment points on the headgear. Soft sleeves cover the Cpap mask frame that touches the cheeks for added comfort.
Once you properly fit the headgear, it can easily be slipped on and off your head without having to further adjust, making it one of the simplest CPAP masks to use.
Keeping your CPAP equipment in top condition is crucial for effective therapy and comfort. Over time, mask parts can wear out, leading to reduced performance and discomfort. Regularly replacing components like cushions, headgear, and filters ensures optimal fit, seal, and hygiene. If you're unsure when to replace your mask parts, we're here to guide you. You should clean the cushion daily. The headgear, frame and elbow only require weekly cleaning. Facial oil and dirt can easily build up on your mask parts when they’re not cleaned properly, which can lead to skin irritation. The good news? Cleaning your mask doesn’t take long, so working it into your morning routine should be a breeze.
HOW TO CLEAN YOUR HEADGEAR:
Time it takes: 5 minutes
Supplies you’ll need to clean your mask:
Daily step-by-step cleaning tips:
1. Unplug your CPAP machine from the power source and disconnect your mask/tubing from your machine.
2. Disassemble your mask:
• Pull the cushion out from one end of the frame, then out from the other end of the frame.
• Unfasten the headgear tab from one side and pull it out of the frame, then do the same with the other side.
• Squeeze the side buttons on the elbow and pull up to release it from the frame.
3. In the sink, clean your mask parts by gently rubbing (or using a soft-bristle brush) with warm, drinking-quality water and soap. Avoid harsh cleaning products and dish detergents.
4. Rinse again thoroughly with warm, drinking-quality water.
5. Place mask components on the towel and allow to air-dry away from direct sunlight.
Ozone or UV light products have not been validated for use with the mask. Use of ozone or UV light products may discolor or damage a the mask during the limited warranty period and that will not be covered. Discoloration or damage of the mask are only covered during the limited warranty period if they occur upon initial unpackaging.
Different parts require replacement at varying intervals. Taking care of your CPAP equipment is important, especially those parts which can be affected by dirt, oil and residue from your skin. Poorly cleaned CPAP masks can cause discomfort and skin irritation. The last thing we all need is another to-do item, so contact your CPAP equipment store and ask if they have a replacement supply program that you can enroll in to get new parts on a consistent schedule. And download the replacement tip sheet to help keep you on track.
Most CPAP masks have silicone cushions because it’s a hypoallergenic material that’s soft, lightweight, and allows for a stable, comfortable seal on your face while you’re sleeping. It’s important that you decide what’s most comfortable for you and your therapy when it comes to your mask cushion. If you experience skin irritation or are uncomfortable with your current mask, contact your CPAP equipment store.
